Why is Southeast Asia so stable?

Why is Southeast Asia so stable now, while the Middle East remains a chaotic mess?

Comment 1: The Middle East is chaotic because they had a badass ancestor; Southeast Asia is stable because they have a ready-made living daddy.

Comment 2: Actually, there’s only one reason.

The most peaceful and harmonious times in Asia have always been when China was at its strongest.

Comment 3: For the nations of Europa, Rome is a legend, an epic—a grand empire that once loomed over them is now but dust of history.

But for the states of the East, their Rome has always been here.

Comment 4: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also high EQ: “Southeast Asian affairs should be decided by the people of Southeast Asia themselves.”

Low EQ: “Americans, get out of Southeast Asia.”

Comment 5: If certain forces don’t want stability,

someone will help them become stable.

Comment 6: Look at the rabbit from within, and everything around is peaceful.

Look at the rabbit from beside, and the behemoth is terrifying.

Comment 7: Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar, was sleeping when a guard rushed in to report:

“The PLA is assembling.”

General Min broke into a cold sweat, put on his clothes, and sat up, trembling with fear.

The guard entered again:

“A PLA group army is assembling.”

General Min took off his clothes, got back under the covers, and within three minutes, was snoring like thunder…

Comment 8: Just one thing—Myanmar actually acknowledged territory occupied by ethnic armed groups, and the negotiations took place in Kunming.

As for Taiwan and Hong Kong folks, they can only imagine being killed by triads in the Golden Triangle. In reality, it’s just a letter from a mainland police station that scares the Golden Triangle armed groups out of their wits.

Comment 9: Close to China: stable and able to develop.

Close to the U.S.: stable but unable to develop.

Far from both China and the U.S.: unstable and unable to develop.

Comment 10: Reminds me of a saying: “Do they follow your rules because you’re inherently kind?”

China and India used machetes in Galwan; China and the Philippines used axes in the South China Sea. Single-handedly locking Asia’s military conflicts in the cold weapon era.

In contrast, Russia and Ukraine have fast-forwarded to WWI-style trench warfare;

Iran and Israel are still stuck in turn-based warfare…

The difference is clear.
